Its unique! Nice part of this truck is you don't have to worry about ruining the paint. Would definitely get peoples attention. I could also practice being a more proficient welder...

It's crap. It's a waste of good metal. This Rat-Rod nonsense is clueless. In the '50s you made due with what was available and sometimes that wasn't too pretty. Today, the object is too make it look as "Beverly Hillbillies" as possible.
Sweet, seems like maybe a Texas truck or maybe..... oh nevermind
Is that what you call "Rat Rod" or is that the grey side???
I just someones version of a Plain Olde HOT ROD!

Amen. It's one thing to do all you can with what you have; my truck has some rust, dents and dings, because it works on the farm everyday. It's another thing entirely to take what could be a really nice truck and intentionally butcher it.

I have got to say that you guys are sounding like my dad, rest his sole. I don,t think there is anything wrong with what the guy is trying to do in this build. I bet he can brag that he "did it all himself".
Here is to the builder.

I've known a lot guys who have "did it all himself", still didn't mean it wasn't a pile of worthless, poorly built junk. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder but ugly is ugly.

Rat rodding seems to be a lifestyle, and not just a car style. I really like some of the rat rod rigs, but like everything some folks just don't seem to "get it". I have to agree that just throwing a bunch of mismatched parts at an old car body with unsafe and poorly built mechanicals seems wrong. I don't think back in the early days of hot rodding the majority set out to under build the car, they just did what money and skills allowed and were always trying to improve it. As always we say, "It's his car he can do what he wants with it." And that is true, but it dosen't mean the majority will embrace it. Some of you who have checked out my gallery will know I'm building "Bones". This thing isn't going to please everyone, I'm sure, but we are trying to build it safe, and with an eye towards style. We'll see how it turns out.
