Duck the Truck

So, I have this truck sitting in my G/F parent's driveway. Its old (1990), its beat up (i think EVERY fluid is leaking) , and it's a Chebby. But it has 390,000 mi. on it. Numbers matching drivetrain I think. IT IS DUCK!!!!!!!!!
I like Duck, but everyone says Im crazy to start working on it again.
what do you think??

Hey, If it still has 4 wheels, an engine, tranny, rear gear, and a seat in it, it's worth puttin time into it.

You can probably swap stuff for most of the parts you need. If the engine is original though - it's a seasoned block and probably a cherry to rebuild!

Ever go to Second Hand Power, down around Summer avenue somewhere? I'd go see what they have, and kick around some ideas with them. There's also a really good machine shop down on Jackson avenue. The owner can tell you in the blink of an eye whether a build plan will work or not. I used to have the shop name and number around here, but as you go in toward downtown from the northern loop of 240, you cross over a viaduct and it's a little place on the right in the back of a bigger shop.

I love second hand power! I work down the street from them. They helped when I was trying to put my G/F's camero back together.

I had a 1993 chevy stepside that I traded in at a local carlot, I see it every now and then up in severville and I even tried to buy it back from the guy. Even though it was a chevy I loved that truck. Me and my current wife had a lot of memories from when we first met driving that thing. That was the best looking truck chevy ever made in my opinion.

I built a 360 mopar with some parts from second hand power. I got my 340 performance heads from there. I got a great deal on them. They were ported & polished & ran great with my 270 mopar performance cam set. I ran mid 14 runs in a 84 D150 work truck with this motor. I'd loved to been able to put that motor in a challenger or cuda.
