Well, here's the donor for my rig. 75 F250 with power steering, power disk brakes, all seems to be pretty decent too. I'll be doing the full I-beam swap, I'll be sure to take tons of pics so there is a real article on this method of swapping.

i am thinking of doing something similar.
i have a 78 f150 4x4. they body is not in good condition but the front end was completely redone last year and the engine is good. mechanically it is in good condition. op top of that the previous owner took off all the emissions stuff off it.
but i really like the bumpside trucks. and i just happen to come across a 71 f150 and the body is in great condition. on top of that i can get it real cheap.
how difficult would a complete cab/bed swap be?

the cab i belive is a plug and play, the bed might need new holes in it...and on a nother note if it is a 71 then it is a F100 or F250 no F150s back then....

jb, It isn't that hard. You will have to have the ability to lift the cab, bed, and front clip from overhead. I would recommend lifting the cab and front clip in one piece so you don't have to wrestle the alignment issues. Six bolts plus connections is all that is involved. Get a strap through the doors and another out to the rad support and lift. Roll one chassis out and the new one under, piece o cake.
With a helper you should have it completed in a weekend.
