I've been out of town on business then on vaca for a little bit.

Chris at work there is a part-time ASE certified "mechanic" (and I use that term very loosely) who misdiagnosed an a/c job and was persistent him and his stupid book were right which led us into footing the bill for a rental car and extra parts while I tried to solve the actual problem. During that fiasco he had the simple job of replacing a gasket between front pipe and manifold of a Ford Probe where he broke a stud and instead of heating the manifold he cut a big hole through it. I had to weld up the hole and spend a bunch of time smoothing it out to seal because these manifolds were not available from any of our suppliers. So now he gets to change oil and sweep the floor

Honestly it is really sad because he seems to have a lot of knowledge, but he just can't apply himself and focus enough to put it to use.

 

Wow. Sounds like you have your hands full Sean. Sounds like he sould be a service writer and not a tech...

 

He probably could do ok as a service writer actually. Never thought about that.
