drag link question

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't a drag link supposed to be straight?

Depends on what vehicle. Some were made with an offset.

Mine is a 49 F1. It appears to be bent slightly and I was wandering if this is normal or should it be straight through the center ?

I can't help you with a 49 F1, I know my 56 F100 is straight. The draglink is also suppose to be hortizonal, straight across from the pitman arm and steering arm. I've seen some people bend them to reduce bumpsteer, or also bend them if they are too long. In lieu of cutting it and rewelding it. From what I see, the draglink is straight for the 48-53. Check this out!

48 - 52 are straight, or supposed to be.

I wondered about this question myself. My 1955 has a slight bend at end. Mid-fifty says a slight bend is correct. I know mine steers pretty good. Hope this helps

Mine is bent just enough to see. I started to use it but I thought I would ask first. I would hate to be putting things back together and then find out it is not supposed to be bent.
