How long can WVO be stored?

What is the longest WVO can be stored?
I would like to know if it can be stored for a while before I make any attempts at collecting. Before purchasing/or making any kind of processor, I want to be sure I can collect a substantial amount of WVO.

I've held it over for about 6 months with no problems. The Key to storing WVO is to filter out as much of the organics and water as you can, and keep it in sealed containers.

Ok, I will devise a good filter system before longterm storage.
That shouldn't cost too much if I don't go through with the plans.

If you are going to store for a long time you should:

1. Not store in metal tanks unless they have a non metalic coating.

2. Keep the oil as cool as possible (don't store in the sun).

3. If possible a head of dry nitrogen to eliminate atmospheric oxygen.

Number 2 is going to pose a slight problem since I live in the desert. I currently have NO shade in my backyard.

Hot VO has a tendency to polymerize and that you do not want to happen.

It would be best if you fabricated some sort of shade.

I am.
They are called mesquites, and they are taking their sweet time to grow and provide shade.
