Exclamation hard to get turbo going

hello, i have a 2003 f350 6.0L super duty with roughly 53,000 miles on it. i have had quite a few warranty things done on it since purchasing it last year with about 42,000 miles on it. last year i had my mass air flor sensor and egr valve both cleaned by ford dealer and problems were fixed temp. but then came back up this year and they ended up replacing them both. also one day i was driving and kept blowing fuses #22 brought it to ford and they tried to tell me it was my fuel filters and something else stupid, so i had them do it even though i knew it wasnt it. i picked up the truck left the dealer 5 mins up the road trucked stalled out again blown fuse #22. took it back they found the problem (so they say) after a day, said it was my engine glow plug relay coil harness? so replaced that and all problems seemed to be fixed. how ever before i had this replaced when the truck was started and just sitting at idle after about a few minutes my RPM's would increase from i think around 800 to roughly 1000 until you tapped the brake they would go back down to 800. since getting that coil harness replaced i noticed my rpms don't do that any more. is this normal? also i have found since getting this coil replaced that it seems i need to really "mash" on my gas to get my turbo to kick on where before it was really easy to get the turbo going... anyone have any of these same expirences...?

my factory warranty is coming up to be exired this year should i pay to renew it i'm thinking its going to be worth it seeing how my 4 trips to the dealer with in a year really has not cost me more then $100 deductiable a few times. (the screwed up 2 times and ate the cost)

thanks
chris

When you tool it in for repairs, they upgraded the software on your computer processor(s).

The engine "idle-up" is a normal feature of the most recent computer "flash". Extended periods of idling is bad for your combustion system and will plug up the EGR system. Higher idling rpm's will reduce the severity of the problem.

The turbo spooling issue is probably due to the flash also. My experience is that it is only until the engine is warm. Then every thing is normal. It is hard on these engines to make them operating hard before they are heat-soaked.

It does not sound like you have a problem that needs repair unless there are other symptoms you are experiencing.

not expirenceing any other problems, except my "transmission light" is on today and im going to plug it on a scanner and see what code it shows but i don't feel anything wrong. as far as the idle goes, should it be going to a higher idle after a few minutes because it doesnt do that any more. should i take it to ford and tell them to fix that idle how it was? or just leave it. maybe it only did it in the winter time because the cold? i'm not sure. but i miss having my turbo jump on quick like it use to... i really have to mash on the pedel to get it going, (sucks when coming on to the highway) i use to take off like a rocket.

Sounds like another pcm-flash neutering has been done. Mine has a later '03 flash and seems pretty weak, still thinking about getting the latest flash put on...

I would also check to make sure that the intercooler rubber pipes are not split or clamps are loose. Mine woul dpop off under higher boost psi., but would look ok. I finally caught it when there was oil stains on the inter cooler pipe just past the clamp. If it is loose make sure you wipe down the pipe and the intercooler bot with some brake clean so it wont pop off again. Also I know there was a recall on that if you complained about it. They put new boots and clamps on my 04.

i have had my transmission light on and i ran it on a scanner today and i'm pulling an EGR valve code....now i have had 1 valve cleaned, then replaced that one about 3 months ago. so if i need another EGR valve this would be the third time on it. i don't know what to do but my by 5 year 100,000 mile warranty is ending like really soon... and i may ask ford about this reflash thing. everything seems to be running "normal" besides my turbo harder to kick on.
