someone tried to steal my truck last night and now she wont start
So I went to bed around 3am last night and all was well. This morning I hear a knock at my door and it is the Nacogdoches police department asking me about my truck. I was thinking that someone my have backed into my truck or something like that...boy was i wrong
We walked outside and someone had driven? pushed? or something my truck straight ahead out of the parking spot and up a small embankment and left it next to the apartment building. My truck was locked, parking brake on, and in first gear when I went to bed last night and now she wont start.
I dont know how they got a key to it.. there are only 2 keys made w/the new ignition cylinder and I have them both (1 in gun case and other on my key-ring). My old keys for the old ign. cylinder are keyed the same but are too short to start the truck w/the new cylinder (they can only operate the doors)
When I turn the key all I hear is click....no crank or anything. So I am thinking it could be the selenoid.
I cleaned all my battery cables/terminals and still...just click
I hear that I can jump the selenoid across the terminals to see if it is the problem... how exactly would i try that? Any other ideas?

When ever i have jumped a soleniod i just use a screw drive between the two posts and that can do it. But it could also be a bad ground, turn you lights on and have someone stand in front while you turn the key. If the lights dim way down then it is either a bad ground or a dead battery. If the lights stay bright then its a bad connection at the soleniod.

I am going to have my batteries tested tomorrow, most places here are already closed for the night
When I get back to my apartment I am also going to test my grounds.
Thanks for the help yall.... I will let you know how it goes.
on edit: where does the key need to be when I jump the soleniod? acc? start?

so I just got back from my old apartment (where the truck is still parked)
I tried jumping the soleniod from the hot terminal to either other terminal and one of em activated the soleniod (I hear it click) and the other has minimal sparks and nothing happens. I had my 1-ton hooked up to my roommates 1/2ton, let the batteries charge for a good 20mins but still nada. No change on my batter meter (on the dash) and no cranking....just the "click" .
I am going to check my grounds in the morning... its getting too dark outside to see right now.

my guess is still dead batteries or maybe a blowed fuse... i ran my batteries down on mine one time and i had to put a charger on it and a set off booster cables... when i first went to get my truck we put 2 trucks on it to boost it and all we could get was a click... after nearly a hour it still clicked... the ppl told us to come back and they would have her going... they took the batteries out and charged them individually... but i hooked it up to a charger on the main battery and then on the secondary i put another f-350 with booster cables..

the starter is still there and hooked up still.. I 2X checked just in case.
I didnt get to the batteries today, they will have to wait until tomorrow along with checking the fuses (its getting dark). I spent all day today moving into the new place so tomorrow I am going to start going down the checklist...batteries, fuses etc.
