starting problem - 95 F150

OK...here's my problem.

I turn the key over and the truck will not start, no noise, no nothing. The only way it starts is when I put a screwdriver across the posts of the starter relay (the one located under the fender)

I've checked the voltage from the starter B+ to ground and it reads fine. I've jumped the posts from B+ to solenoid S and the starter cranks.

I've checked the grounds and even recleaned them.

I'm thinking that since I don't have any noise when I turn the key that maybe my ignition switch is bad?

I"ve never had a problem like this...usually all my ignition problems were simple to fix. This one has me a little perplexed... Perhaps I've forgotten to check something else?

Any help is appreciated of course...

Thanks...I've been thinking about that too since everything else seems to be working...

sorry i cant be more help only ignition switch ive ever messed with was on a 74 nova and well it was simmple had a long white plastic box on the side with key switch and it was easy to take off and i actually took it apart and repaired it and put it back on but the way they make parts today im sure it will be a pain to get to and you most likely wont be able to take it apart so you have to buy a new one im sure someone here has more info on it than me good luck

It's easy to change out that ignition switch. You'll put the key in and turn the switch, but not to start, ACC I think. there is a small pin hole that you will push piece of wire thru and pull the switch out. Parts store guy will show you how. Fairly cheep part too.
Then reverse with new one. You'll have different set of ignition keys now though.
NOTE: If new switch doesn't do the trick, then you probably have same problem I had on my 87. Theres a rod that runs along the inside of the steering column down to the actual electronic switching, well mine broke off inside steering column, and I couldn't find another steering column so I had to bring that rod outside my column and push it manually to start engine. I still have to use the key, but only to unlock steering.

It ain't right, but it's a quick fix to get ya goin'.
