superchip vin locked--- unlock possible

i have a very old looking black superchip that is vin locked. is there anyone that has figured out how to unlock the chip. can one figure out what the actual vin the chip has stored and change it to my vin from my truck to make it work. it is stuck on" tow-perf" now. can i change the vin in my computer to match the vin on the superchip and make it work? its not that im trying to be cheap or anything, but its a challenge for me and i like to challeng myself... even if it involves breaking something trying! lol lets hear some ideas. at least eentertain some ideas. ill try anything once!!

I'm not sure about this but I think that only Super Chip is the only one to help as they will have to clear the existing VIN then re-burn their specific programs.

I'd give them a call and see what they have to say as well the cost to do this. It may be cheaper to invest in a new chip.

Question:

What happened to the truck that belongs to the installed VIN?

If Super Chip won't help ya out then you have a $0.50 paper weight. Not bad huh?

i have paid more than $.50 for an actual paper weight. and it hasn't read any codes yet! i think i did pretty good too. i will be thinking about the 100 dollar reburn. that sounds like it may be a good deal. i'm sure i could probly sell the chip for $100.50 if i had to. thanks for the info.
