Eddy Performer vs Eddy Performer RPM

Hey guys...this is probably a dumb question but. Can someone help me out what the difference, pros/cons are (besides performance range) between the Edelbrock Performer and the Edelbrock Performer RPM and the Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap?

-I thought with the regular old Performer, it would give you instant power off the line, right? And it's performance capabilities stopped at around 6000 r's.

-So then a street truck that sees mainly highway time, would I want to go with the Performer or the Performer RPM? If I do go with the RPM, it just won't have quicker get up and go capability from a stop when I do drive around town?

-Lastly, is it pretty much a no brainer to go with the Performer RPM Air Gap if I go with the RPM package so then that whole area will be running cooler?

This would be going on my new Bronco with a 351M/C6. It's 3.55 geared. Thanks for the help guys.

I think the regular performer is all you can get for a 351m/400.

They have the Performer, Performer RPM and the Performer RPM Air Gap for the 351M/400.

Edelbrock.com - Manifolds - Ford

I would love if they offered the Performer Air Gap, but they don't yet for Fords. That way I would get the idle to 5500 performance plus the extra air circulation.

The Barry Grant Badman carb and manifold is what I would like to see..... fat chance that ever happens.

I am pretty happy with my Offey intake. I don't turn more that 4000RPM in the Bronco. I need to put my weiland on e-bay...... or better yeat buy a another Bronco to put my Weiland intake on!

They do not make an air gap manifold for we 351M/400 owners, only the Cleveland. You could use one with the spacers, though. I do not know why they labeled the button on their site like that, as it is misleading. I didn't know myself until I actually clicked on it a minute ago.

I realized that...but always figured it could be adapted. I'm figuring the regular old Performer is the way to go considering I won't exceed 4000 r's that often. Just wish they had the Performer Air Gap for Ford's.

have you seen the difference between the performer and the performer air gap? ITS A GAP!!!! buy the performer and make the gap yourself, it seems pretty easy... Im guessing the small gap is small enough to mantain port velocity and offer a slight single plane feel at higher rpm by letting all 8 cylinders feed almost on all 4 barrels.... Seams to me like a pefect manifold for some toqrue and great midrange..

The Performer Air Gap has a gap under neath the manifold as I understand it.

Yes sir it does, I just figured it would help in the cooling process. But after realizing I'll never exceed the 4500 rpm range I really don't need an RPM manifold, just wish the regular ol' Performer had an air gap version for the 400.

I would take a look at an Offy dual port manifold if it is going on a truck. They cost a fortune new, but you can pick up a used one for @$200.00. It is a great truck manifold. I still have my Weiland sitting on a shelf, but I have been very pleased with the Offy. It is not much good over 5,000 rpm, but I don't turn over 4,000 even when passing going down the interstate.
