Ford 390 head

To all- I am cleaning up the garage and found a set of heads. The heads are identical, but have different casting numbers. C6AE R, and DTE AA. I had a 72 F250 and think they might have come along with it. Are they 390s? Dont know much about the big block- is their a difference between a 2 and 4 BBL head like the 351 Cleveland? Would it make a difference these were casted 6 years appart?

C6AE R 66 352 only
DTE AA` maybe should be D2TE AA 72-76 std. 360, 390, 428 w/o air

The D2TE should have hardened seats.

What are the performance potentials for a stock early seventies 390 head? I'm looking at building about a 450 horse 390, and I wouldn't mind using aftermarket heads, but I don't want to use aluminum heads, I want cast iron. would I need to go with heads from something that was originally a little more performance oriented, or would a good valve and porting job be sufficient?
