F600 brake shoes

Howdy John,
I was able to get shoes for the front at Napa for my 55 F-600
I took the back ones to Cascade Friction Materials Inc. in Tacoma and had them relined. That's your best choice probably. ANY big truck place that does brakes and clutches can turn your drums and reline your shoes.
It's probably better to et them relined anyway since you know they'll fit.
Cheers,
Rick
You may not be able to buy the shoes anywhere at any price.

John,
Do you know what the drum diameter and width of the shoes are? I have a access to quite an assortment of older brake linings & friction material and I might be able to come up with something. I have relined lots of old and obsolete brakes. I would need your old shoes to line. If your interested let me know and I can give you a price. I'm located in New York.

Front brake lining: B3T-2007-A (13" X 2 1/4") / Lyle's Ford-Mercury in Eagle Grove IA has one original set NOS.
Rear brake lining set: B3T-2007-E (15" X 4") / No Ford dealer shows these / Green Sales & Dennis Carpenter = O.
Try joblotauto.com in Queens NY, they specialize in BIG older Ford truck parts.

F600 Brakes
John,
I checked my old parts book and came up with the lining numbers, which are still available. The front FMSI number is 2043 (13'' x 2 1/4") and a set consists of 2 pieces which are 12 3/4" long and 2 pieces which are 14" long. There should be a total of 48 rivets holding them on (this is for all 4 shoes). The rear number is 2032 (15" x 4") and consists of 4 pieces all the same size with a total of 32 rivet holes. If you sent me your old shoes I could reline them (provided they are not rusted out). The cost to reline them would be $50 for the front set and $85 for the rear, plus return UPS shipping charges. Or you might be able to find someone locally who could reline them and save on shipping. Either way I hope this information helps you out.

I have not taken the wheels off of the truck as yet but looking at the overall condition of it, I expecting to have to do a fairly complete brake job on it before it goes on the road at all.....
NumberDummy.....Thanks for the information........JOBLOT did not have brake lining for F600's......Got rear cylinders and master cylinder from them.....
HT32.....Thanks for your information.......It looks like NAPA does have the front shoes......
Kevin.....I am interested in getting the lining and rivets.......How do I contact you?

Hold onto your old shoes
Just a couple of thoughts here hold on to old shoes for oversize material thickness when you cant turn drums again and the wheel cylinders go by the cast number and you will find forklifts with the same casting that may be available. I would go with a dual MC so you have some kind of braking if wheel cylinder goes.
