Angry Oil problem

Well, now that I've got the new ipr kit, I've located a new problem..tonite, leaving my parents house..truck wouldn't stay running...hubby and my dad crawled under the hood, and found oil in the fuel filter...can u give me some reasons as to why, PLEASE??? Thanks guys!!!
Oh, btw, truck is a '95 Ford 7.3 with turbo...I've noticed too, that the last few times I've used it, it has really been blowing blue..don't know if that would be pertinent info to help figure out problem or not!!

Re: oil problem

To answer your question, the o rings were changed last fall...it was using alot of oil before that, and since then, it doesn't go thru any...today is the first time it wouldn't stay running and that's when the oil in fuel filter was discovered.

How can you have oil in the fuel filter?

If there o-rings are the problem they must REALLY be shot. Is this smoke consistant throughout the engine's operating temps? When the truck was running was the idle a little off or did it every bog down in high rpm situations?

You can run on shotty o-rings for a long time. Usually you have lots of smoke at startup, but once the rings get warm they swell a little.

That's the question I have, why is there oil in the fuel filter? The o rings were changed last fall..I've got a kit to rebuild the ipr, but haven't had the time to do it yet.

So, any thoughts on WHY there is oil in the fuel filter???? Cuz I don't know why..maybe it has something to do with needing to get the ipr fixed??? I don't have a clue!

I wouldn't think this has anything to do with the IPR. I believe there is only two possilbe points of enty here. The orings and maybe the fuel pump itself. I'm not sure if there is an o-ring of some sort on the shaft or not.

Are you positive its oil and not algae? I know when you have algae the fuel starts to look pretty dark. (if your running bio)
