Drive Shaft Question

i have a 97' f-250 with a 2 piece drive shaft and in the center where it is rubber mounted is starting to wear and causing vibrations. is there any reason a cant put a one piece drive shaft under the truck

The two piece is in there for a reason... a new carrier bearing and rubber damper will probably be way cheaper than a custom 1 piece driveshaft.

They use a 2 piece shaft to keep ground clearance. Midship bearings are cheap compared to a custom made 1 piece drive shaft.

yeah thats they route i was probably going to end up going. but just curious about the purpose of the two piece shaft. thanks for the help guys
