Deal or no Deal?

Hopefully, if it's a deal, someone else won't swoop down on this, but here goes:

2005 Ford F250 Super Duty

2005 Ford F250 SuperDuty truck with seized motor for $1000 o.b.o. that I'm looking to pick up...

...and install a new motor.

Thats an awesome deal, Even if a motor costs 10 grand it'd probably be a deal

Considering I work for a very large dealership network in the North Bay (north of S.F., CA), which includes TWO Ford dealerships, and I get employee pricing on all my parts...I hope the motor would be a bit less expensive.

Yeah, unless he's neglected to mention that the engine has seized due to a steamroller scaling the hood, I'd say it's a good deal.

Already have email in to the guy, hopefully he gets back to me soon. It's going to be a bit ironic that my '88 F250 XLT Lariat with its mis-matched door body parts (door, fender, front bumper filler) is going to be hauling such a nice truck on a trailer behind it.

The only provision that I asked him to consider was if there were storage fees, etc. due on the truck. I bought the F250 for $500, yet had to spend nearly $600 in order to register it due to back fees. I don't want a nasty shock when I go to pick it up and there's 3k in storage fees due or something.

Update: The guy emailed me back that it was sold. I'm not sure if he's removed the ad or not, but he says it's sold.

Ouch that sucks but i can see why 1000 is a steal a new motor would be what between 5-10 grand but it still be worth it and not worth more than the whole truck itself
