08 message center TBC gain

08 message center TBC gain
The message center on my 08 will display the message:
TBC Gain = 0.0
Output = 0
It will only show this when the trailer is hooked up so I am assuming it is for the Trailer Brake Control. What I dont understand is the purpose. My TBC is set at 10 but the message center reads 0. I thought as I applied the brakes the message center would change but it doesnt. I looked in the manual and didnt find anything about this.
Anyone have any answers or opinions?

It shows up just by hitting the info button. It will switch from Distance to Empty, Average MPG, Trip Odometer, and then this TBC message. If the trailer is not hooked up it only shows the other items I mentioned and not the TBC message.
I was too afraid to hit reset or setup while this was displayed since I dont know its purpose or the reason it reads different than my actual TBC unit. I asked my salesman and he has no idea. Told me to just ignore it. It's there for a reason so ignoring it without understanding what it does is hard for me to do.

Electric brakes on both axles. The TBC unit itself seems to be functioning fine. The graph bar increases as brake pressure increases. This message center thing is probably something I can ignore but its hard for me to do that without knowing why. Ford put it there for a reason, it has to serve some sort of purpose. I will play around with it this weekend, hit reset, setup, whatever.

OK, I got all the way to an engineer in Dearborn about this. This is the official answer for what its worth. The message we are seeing is normal and is not intended to serve any purpose on a 2008 truck. It is "pull ahead software" for the 2009 model because they are making changes to the TBC for 2009. He wouldnt tell me what the changes were but he said I would have the option to purchase the 2009 TBC if I wanted to install it on my 2008. I asked why anyone with TBC on a 2008 would pay extra to upgrade to the 2009 TBC and his answer was "no one said you had to, its simply an option".
