I really like the self healing feature on the tilt front end, when it closes the seam heals shut. How do they do that??? The must have mixed Neosporin with the paint. Bob, you got way too much spare time. Give up that foolishness and come over and help me in the shop.

Later Man...

It's a new bio-metallic material I've been developing, along with the self-regenerating fuel I am working on. I was hoping to hold off announcing my research for a later date but you've found me out.

hey disgregard the part about pics with the stuff open didnt when i looked at the picture the door was closed then after my reply it was open. i do really like the look of it auctually and it would be somethin different. now you made it tilt forward from the middle of the fender but i was worried about there being a big ugly seam in the middle of the fender. any thoughts or ideals.

Matt,

The truck isn't real, well it is a real truck but I altered it using Paint Shop Pro. This is the actual truck picture I got from the internet:

I can't see how you could get away from having a seam other than using some kind of servo to push the front clip forward until it cleared the cab and then have it tilt forward.

I like the idea once I saw how it looked. I don't like suicide doors just because I think they're unsafe. I heard a few stories about the original doors on the stock cars of the '30-40s that came open while going down the road if the door is not properly latched. It would also take a lot of work to make them work on this truck but I've also seen a lot of customized vehicles with modifications I thought would never be possible, you imagination and talent is the only limits.

When I did mine I never cut the fenders. Where the top rear of the fender wraps over the cowel seem it has a lip that sits in the trough made by the cowel seem. Imagine in bobs photoshop tilt that the lower front corner right behind the bumper moves up and forward 6". The top rear of the fender rests in the groove and just slide to the front of the cowel seem. The bottom rear corners of the fenders now are a foot forward of the dorr front edge giving room to swing up without hitting anything. It's two movments like a BMW hood up and forward then tilt. For the suicide doors your on your own. Maybe ask Suicide Doors Inc. they sell a universal kit.
