Is this common

I have a 00 EB. Just in the last couple of weeks my AC fan has started changing speeds as my RPM's change (the more gas I give it, the faster the AC fan turns). The volt gauge in the dash however does not seem to change at all when this is happening. I put in a new alternator about 4 months ago but my battery is almost six years old. I am going down the path of thinking that my battery might be on the verge of going bad.

What do you guys think?

my 2000 navi has a similar issue if i have the A/C on full blast with the rear on too. if i go to a stop sign i can hear the fan slow a little bit but once i take off it goes back to normal. i am guessing it is just a lot of strain to have all that pulling at such a low idle speed. good luck

6 years on a battery is a long time, I think you're due for a new one.

I've changed my battery twice in six years. When you're stopped with the AC running, your really loading the engine down so a decrease in fan speed is to be expected. Also, don't trust the voltage or oil pressure gauges on the dash.
