for some reason after I posted the picture, I coudn't type anymore underneath it.

anyhow hello to all you FORD nuts, I paid $600 for the truck, maybe shoulda negotiated a little, then $100 taxes and title and registration.

really happy with the truck so far. some issues

-electric windows broken, took off the door panels and and got em secured in the up position.

have yet to take a look at the timing, idle, etc

I'm pretty much prepared to yank everything and rebuild it but I might not have too.

Its got a little cancer here and there but overall is really a good lookin ol truck.

number one priority right now I want to see if I can put hand crank stuff in the doors for the windows, if that will work.

I'm outa here to check out yall's stuff in some other threads.

Welcome to the boards, ford six, I know you will enjoy you're stay here. A lot of great folks and a wealth of knowledge.

Nice straight truck, looks like mine, personally I would stick with the power windows, wish I had 'em.

There's also another section that deals with the 300 six, very interesting stuff. Do some searches and you'll soon find out there's nothing you can't do with these rather unique engines.

Have yourself a great time

Seeing these 2 posts together sparks a bad memory for me. My '80 used to look almost that nice on the passengers side until an idiot in a Dodge Ram made a LANECHANGE into it. Good luck with the truck and welcome to the forum. Ebay is full of parts for these trucks, but I can't help but think that if neither of your power windows work, it may be as simple as a fuse. Did you try checking for power at the motors or running a jumper directly to them?

A used window motor is about $10 at my local junk yard, by far the easiest and quickest fix. There are different P/N for each door as it is a combination motor and gear box. I have a spare for the drivers side under my seat still that I have been hanging onto due to the high cost of the new units that I bought for both door at NAPA.

Thought maybe we might be closer, I'm on the west side of Ft. Worth, so we're all a bit away from each other.

Nice looking truck.I wish mine was in that good of shape. I have an 85 250 w/351w 4wd and I wish it had the 300 six in it. The body is shot and I am just now trying to get money together to redo all of it. I did find a decent bed but I need doors now. I wish you the best of luck with yours. Like someone else said, ebay has lots of parts for these trucks.

Jim that truck looks great. I had a 82 F 150 with the 6 in it. A great truck. Always loved that six. Maybe the best motor Ford ever made.I wouldnt mine owning one today. They were pretty simple. Hello to the new guy. The first thing I would to your truck is get that blue oval on the front grill looking better. Even though it has no effect on the performance off the truck. It would bother me to have it distorted like that.
