5.5" of lift seems like a little too much lift for just a 315 tire in my opinion.i kinda like the stuffed look.my 1 ton sits nice with stock rear suspension and just a leveling kit up front.high enough for good looks and low enough to drive nice everyday.to each his own.

Historically, the rule of thumb was 285 or 295 was the biggest you could run on the stock suspension of '99-04 trucks. Any bigger, and they will rub somewhere - either the leaf springs, the fender well, somewhere.
I have 285's and was wheeling on very rocky ground with full articulation in all directions, and never rubbed once.

i see by your pictures that you use your truck.mine is just street driven and tow vehicle for my camper.some of the response about rubbing looked like they were on f250's the orig. post and mine are f350's and also diesel engine vs. gas theres definitly a weight difference on the front leafs.like i said before i get a slight rub when turning hard on to my driveway not bad at all.

Not to dispel the diesel vs. gas weight, but Ford does use different springs to keep the front-end the same height across engines (or at least close).
For instance, my F250 has "T" front springs (heavy-service suspension) for the SB SC. With a V10.
With a diesel, they'd have put U or V springs in it from the get-go, so a diesel in the exact same truck doesn't necessarily sit lower when brand new. Later on, well...

thats for sure... my lift springs are intended for a diesel (mine is a 5.4 V8), and they are definitely stiffer than my factory ones were. i also netted more lift (even before the shackles) than had i had a diesel; i think now with the shackles i'm currently probably at about the same height a diesel would be with 6" springs.
