2001 Exp 4.6L spark plug change

I have a 2001 Expedition with over 150K miles, and its way overdue for a spark plug change. It still as the original factory plugs in it, runs ok, just idles kinda rough. My plan is to get
them changed next week, and I need a recommendation on replacement plugs. Are the Motorcraft plugs ok, do I need to get platinum plugs? I've also heard that its a good practice to change all 8 coils when you change the plugs. If it is, would changing to MSD coils be a good idea? I've checked on them and the cost is about the same as replacement stock coils from the parts store.

Thanks
Howard

Stay with Motorcraft plugs. I wouldn't change the COP's unless you're having a problem with them. They either work or don't.

Plugs/Coils

Thanks for the info. I'm able to find Autolite plugs, not much luck finding Motorcraft. Are the double platinums fine, or is there any value in going to the more expensive Iridium plugs?

On the coils, the MSD coils should help a bit with the performance since they are a hotter coil?

Thanks
Howard

Autozone sells Motorcraft. Stick with the stock replacement. I'm not sure the MSD COPs will buy you any increase in performance. Maybe someone who has installed them can enlighten us.

Motocraft double platinum for stock, iridium if you're tuned, but at 4.6L i doubt you're tuning. DON"T change the cop's. You run into more chance of fowling something up. Change the boots, make sure to use dielectric grease on them thoroughly. Only change cop's id one dies, then change them all at once, not one at a time, from ebay, not Ford. Happy changing

Well..most of the time they're good. Get a reputable seller. Most are cheaper chinese "hacks" which most of the time work, but don't always :P.
