Angry OD light flashes on and off!

2000 Ranger with 92,000 miles. After I drive for about 10 minutes and then stop at a stop sign, etc, the OD light will begin flashing on/off after the trans shifts into second around 25 MPH when I start driving again. Sometimes this shift has a bump to it, sometimes not. The truck runs and drives fine and OD seems to still be working. I can press the OD button at 60 MPH and feel it kick off, then press it again and it will kick back in. Local mechanic ran codes and the only think that came back was EGR vacuum. Replaced the vacuum hoses, checked EGR and had the trans filter and fluid replaced thinking this might help but it hasn't. The truck cleared all codes at the shop after this work. Don't know if it has anything to do the solenoid that controls shifting inside the trans case or not? What do you guys think? Pulling my grey buzzcut out at the roots trying to solve this.

The flashing OD light means a transmission fault has been detected. Remember, the computer can detect slippage long before you can, the computer can detect as little as 10% slippage, while you wouldn't notice any slippage till you have around 40% slippage.

when was the last time you replaced your tranny fluid?

Bear River

Had the fluid and filter changed about two weeks ago when the vacuum hoses were replaced.

Tranny codes pulled indicated an incorrect gear 2 ratio and a shift solenoid. ERG valve also.

UPDATE: Ohm tested the six solenoids in the tranny and they seemed good, but thought that one might give trouble when it got hot, so replaced the solenoid for shifting and the one for 1/2 gears; Also replaced a bad gasket around the valve body and this seems to have corrected the problems. No hard shifting, no OD light flashing, and it seems to shift smoother than it did when I bought it. There were no metal filings in the tranny pan so i felt good that there was nothing major going on there. I was also getting an insufficient EGR reading but that seems to have cleared as well.
