5" mitre cut stacks

... if I took out my cat and muffler and resonator, and brought a straight pipe back into a collection box in the back of my truck and out 2- five inch miter cut stacks, what kind of problems would I run into?..... besides noise pollution?... should I leave the cat on?

I would use a piece of flexpipe to connect the main exhaust to the collection box (free movement, no stress or twisting anything)

One problem I see with a setup like that is debris collecting in your collection box. Tree leaves, bugs, and birds tend to wind up in stacks and at least with the pipes, I can rev the motor and blow that stuff out. The box will have too many places for things to settle and get trapped. I would go with a Y-pipe of some kind in the bed and then make a box to shield the pipe. If you can be religious about putting caps on your stacks when not in use, you will probably be ok.

If you're wondering, yes I have had a to launch a bird carcass or 2 out of my stacks. It's kind of funny to watch feathers float out of your pipes when the truck is idling.

I could always put a little door across the front, to clean stuff out once a month or two?

..... it should be fairly easy to clean .... everything would be cooked by the time I clean it out

any one for wings? lol

Thats true, you could cut a hole and mount some studs around it and use some wingnuts and a header style cap that way you could also have a gasket to seal it good. Just shove your hand or a vacumn hose in there once or twice a year to keep it clear.
