Angry Need clutch help for 64 f100 w/292 Y Block

Late bloomer into the auto world. I have never worked on vehicles before and I need Help. Pulled 4 bolts out of bellhousing, loosened 2 mount bolts on Crossmember. Should'nt I be seeing movement out of housing? I have a jack under pan so motor wont drop. What am I not doing, or am I missing ?

Thanks

there are 2 more bolts on the drivers side that connect the shift linkage to the engine which go through to the bellhousing

IIRC you should be able to remove the drive shaft, remove linkages, remove 4 trans to bellhousing bolts, remove trans, and replace the clutch through the bottom of the bellhousing.

You know, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but when I replaced my clutch, I just barely COULDN'T pull the old clutch out from under the bellhousing. It just didn't clear the crossmember. I ended up cutting a tiny piece out of the crossmember, and then the everything slid out with ease.

Your rubber pads on the crossmember mounts aren't fresh as daisys anymore and like a bag of chips "some settling has occured". I had to loosen mine up and jack the motor up slightly.
