6 Second 1/8 mile!!!!!

GOT IT!

I did a tuning pass tonite in preparation for next Saturdays drag race and pulled off the number I was looking for. I have been making some changes in timing and A/F ratio for the bottle, and they paid off. I decided to make a partial run, intending to lift right after my 2-3 shift. I had the bottle set to engage .8 seconds after I hit full throttle.

Well, it did hit. Like a locomotive. It twisted the truck up and went like a bat out of hell. My 1-2 shift was on me so fast it caught me by surprise, and the 2-3 was no different. I actually stayed in the throttle slightly longer than I intended, but did lift short of the finish by 7 tenths. I lifted at about 6.2 seconds, at which point I was running 96mph. I coasted down to 89mph and crossed the finish at 6.96.

My numbers were:

60' 1.68
330' 4.49
0-60mph 2.59

I'm going to try to make it official at the race next Saturday. Nobody has run a 6 second 1/8 at our little track yet. Gonna make the bullet bikes and race cars mad if the first one is a 4 wheel drive truck!

Oh I am still around. Been real busy with work. I have been reading the post just to tired to answer any I am glad Scout got his truck running good. I have plan to got the track next week on the 27th of June and make some runs. I am taking the day off so I can take some time to go play!!! This time I am going to put alot more timing in it instead of just 35 degrees and see what the old truck can do. I also lowered the rear 1 1/2 to 2 inches and put drag shocks on the front to get the wieght to distribute better. Scout needs to get a video up so we can see these fast runs!!

Oooohhhh, but I will tell. With video....on Youtube!

But, I do like your idea. A cutesy saying on the tailgate would be fun.
