Blue Oval On Grille Discolored
#2
The good news is that the blue oval emblem on the honeycomb grille is removable. Its secured to the grille by two twisty-type half-nuts on plastic studs on the backside of the grille, in which these plastic studs are attached directly to the blue oval emblem itself. My F-150 truck has the same type grille only its all black. Not sure if these emblems are covered by the warranty or not, nor do I know how much they cost. I would suggest calling your local Ford dealership and ask them if the emblem is covered by the warranty before you remove it yourself. If you decide to remove the emblem yourself, be sure to save those half nuts and take great care in installing these nuts onto the new emblem's studs or else you may snap off those plastic studs if the nuts are torqued too tight. Been there, done that and had to buy a customer another new Chevy emblem as a result when I worked as a Chevy tech at a Chevy dealership 3 years ago. The Ford oval grille emblems are attached the same way unfortunately. Hope this helps!

Had both front and rear ovals replaced at the dealer under warranty. They were peeling the same as yours. The front looks like the easier one to replace.
If out of warranty, check out tascafordparts.com or other site sponsors here. I think Tasca is one, but I can't find them listed at the moment. The front goes for about $20 and the rear $32.

Had to order one when my new grille came without the emblem. Word of caution when ordering one.... make sure you specify the one you need has the two mounting studs/nuts on the back. Ford carries another one that has only the 3M tape on the back, once its on you won't be able to remove and re-use it, it'll either bend or break, and won't re-stick. They sent me the wrong one first, had to return it and wait for the correct one.

Are you sure it's a mounting screw and not just a locating stud? The taped ones have a center mounted locating stud that fits through the grille to position the emblem correctly because the tape grabs firmly and can't be repositioned once it's pressed on. Apparently Ford uses both types, my '06 has the two mounting screws.
