NEWS...Caterpillar & Navistar match up...
Just heard on CNBC today, as Cummins Engine stock gained almost ten bucks a share and then dropped back.
Cat & Navistar are in a deal together. Probably more explanation later on, but the way I read it, CAT's engine is not 2010 compliant, and they will not compete in light/medium duty truck engine.
Navistar didn't release much, but it sounds like they too will pull out of the 2010 diesel engine market.
I'll follow up with more news or someone else can post, as it was very confusing what was being said.
The results were that CUMMINS was a big winner on the stock market today.

I read your link. Cat and Navistar sure make it clear as mud! I'm starting to get the feeling that Cummins with their urea engine is the only solution to the 2010 compliant engine.
Add the cost of fuel into the equation and I sure hope my 6.4 holds up because it appears the choices for a 2010 diesel are becoming slim to none.

There are some other interesting stories if you go to the root page, TX wanting out on 50% of ethanol required production, Detroit Diesel changing regen program to gain 2.5% fuel economy, etc.

That looks awfully similar to a Toyota.
