94 7.3 n/a idi
I been doing some research but ain't finding much on the n/a 7.3...
I got a 93 crewcab long bed 351w,c64x4....I have it down to bare frame.. .the engine needs manifold bolts all drilled and tapped.. ughgg and I think it's a little on the small side for such a big truck. Anyway I dont want a ps.. I like the all manual engine idea... so I found a 94 7.3idi non turbo with trans.. (it's an overdrive, don't want that probably find a c6 to mate up) for 300$. It has just over 200k and ran when parked 2 years ago...is it worth the money?? My truck needs all new fuel injection lines and both fuel tasks replaced anyway. I can probably get the radiator and support.. he won't sell the instrument cluster....What else would I need?? Dual battery tray no biggie... I can do the swap and all that's included but don't know what them n/a engines are worth...there are more of them then the turbo idi for sale... I just don't really wanna mess with my 351w...I want better torque and mpg..thanks

Thank you for your debate.. as I have no-one else to discuss this with.. but let me continue....the truck Is a one tone and I plan on messing around with the suspension anyways.. it needs all new fuel lines and anew front fuel tank regardless .. and it'll need new exhaust from the rear of cab back...all these things need to be done regardless if I go diesel or keep the gasser......
Ive also seen a 7.3 idi with 120k.. but no transmission and twice the price... I'll have to rebuild the heads / top end of the Windsor because all the exhaust bolts are busted and well have to take it apart more then likely.... I just keep thinking diesel is going to be better in the long run... it's going to be the same amount of work basically......

a good running IDI is usually around $500 to $1000. then you need to add $200 or so for the trans.
gas to diesel swap is going to need a lot of parts that will get expensive real quick without a donor truck.
you will need a radiator and support. under hood wiring harness. not sure if you can use the in cab wiring or not.
diesel tach. fuel lines. engine mounts and towers. exhaust. driver side battery tray.
plus a few other things i cant remember rite now. then once you get it in, you will be looking for a turbo to put on because the non turbo trucks are slow.

Thank you....I know the trans mission will be my biggest pain....like I said fuel lines are cheaper then fuel injection lines...witch I need.....I'm sure the engine mounts will come with the engine. At least that's how I pull an engine.. I know I will need radiator and core support... I don't think there is under hood engine wiring .... and I don't really need a tach...exhaust is big deal....battery tray is simple... I would like a turbo but in reality it is not needed....I don't care about speed...heck I drive a l8000 every day....so I'm use to going slow. Lol.... my truck Is completely torn apart at the moment....I mean only one xmember is on the frame and nothing else....so as I'm redoing the truck I think now is best to do the swap...I dont want to put the Windsor back in it and spend$ on it then be disappointed and want a diesel....thanks
