Its an 08 job 1, 11,000 miles, Lariat, all options, 4 in lift 35's on 22's..it just mainly sits at the house, since i've been driving my gas burner here lately...What do yall think the chances on selling this thing is?? and how much you think its worth?? Nice truck.

Nice truck.

I am looking at used trucks myself, so perhaps you can benefit from what I have learned. Of course this is my opinion, and I have a feeling you aren’t going to like that I have to say.
<O
First, you are going to have to figure out what the truck is worth. Sure, KBB or NADA will give you some numbers, but what it is actually worth depends on 2 things, what someone is willing to give you for it and what you currently owe on it. I have a feeling that you are like so many others I have seen and you owe more than what it is worth. Fuel prices and the economy have hit truck sales hard. The manufacturers are giving large incentives for new ones and that is absolutely killing the price of the used ones. A brand new F250 KR fully loaded can be had for $44k. That is a slap to people who paid over $55k new when the 08’s came out, but it is the nature of the business. Obviously if you owe $50,000 or $40,000 on the truck, you aren’t likely going to sell it for $32,000 or $34,000. As fuel prices go up, so do the incentives on new trucks and the used values will drop just a fast.
<O
If you are serious about selling, you need to look at what they have been selling for. E-bay completed items listing is a good place for this. See what the trucks have been actually selling for and what the high bids are for ones that aren’t selling. The aftermarket gear you have (tires, lift, etc) may add or may deduct from the value. Personally I am looking for a stock F250 KR that I can tow with. I think in the current market, potential buyers are going to be looking for trucks they can tow with or work with, the days of fancy, lifted show trucks may be over for average guys.
<O
Who knows, list it on a few sites for what you want out of it, you might get it. Just don’t be angry when people (like me) try and low-ball you.
<O
Good luck,
Vincent<O<O<O<O<O<O<O

Yea you are going to lose money on the deal I can tell you that, trying to sell a diesel truck is a joke right now so people who are looking for one know they can under bid or if you try to goto a stealership they are going to get you too that is just the nature of the beast. So if you can bite the bullet and sell and lose your butt on it then sell away but beware resell on trucks right now is sssooooo not good right now.

Your truck is beautiful, but your accessories are costing you big time..
Return it to stock height, stock wheels and buy a Job 2 air damn.
After that, install an SCT DPF delete and start enjoying over 20 MPGs again.

I hear ya george...may do it...yea i have sold two of my superdutys on ebay and both of them have been lifted and stuff like this one...just depends on who you are..some people will pay more to have their truck already set up...i've always had good luck selling my SD's but on this one i figure it will be a little tougher...i'm not upside down on it, but i'm not sure if anyone out there in the right mind would even think about buying a diesel right now..who know..thats why i like this site is cuz everyone is willing to put their 2 cents in...

I just sold my Excursion (see signature) and the guy who got it stole it from me.... but it's gone and that's just what the economy is justifying.

On the other hand, I am the kind of guy that must not be in their right mind to buy a diesel right now because that's exactly what I'm going to do. Just drove a job #3 F350 fx4 (all black, just like yours fordstroker). Great truck. Great dealer pricing and financing, too. I'm going to sleep on it and see if I still feel the same way about the truck in the morning.

fordstroker: PM me with a price. You're a little ways from me, but it's worth a shot.

Geroge C, What is a SCT DPF delete? Probably a stupid question but I don't know.

Keep your truck, if you can afford to. Drive your gas jobber during the week. I recently Bought a F 150 crew cab for work reasons. I miss driving my F 350 diesel alot , but glad I didnt sell it. Now I drive it every chance I get.

DPF delete means just that. Remove the DPF (diesel particulate filter) and replace it with a pipe. Requires a tuner such as SCT when the DPF is removed. From many reports (GeorgeC being one of them) this has greatly improved the mpg's.

The market is in the tank right now but if you can hold on I think it will rebound. There will always be a need for a heavy duty truck to tow/haul with. The demand will come back eventually but right now everyone is holding off new purchases unless its too good of a deal to pass up. If you own an Escalade or a Hummer, sorry about your luck, I dont see the demand coming back for those because they are an impulse buy rather than a neccessity for towing. soccer moms can fit just as many people in a mini van.

With that said, the demand will come back because people need tow rigs. If your truck is more about show than purpose it wont have as much demand. You will have to find that 1 buyer out there.

As for diesel, how is this for a positive spin. Fuel has been roughly $.60 more expensive than gas for over a year. At $2.00/$2.60 a gallon that was a 30% difference. WOW. At $4.00/$4.60 its only a 15% difference. Diesels should be able to get 15-20% better mileage so its break even right now. If prices really do go to $6.00/$6.60 then its a 10% difference and diesel will effectively be cheaper than gas.

That's a NICE truck! The market is NUTS now. I am looking at a 2008 f-350 job1 Lariat LOADED with 25K miles and the dealer is asking 35k. Right along side of it is a NEW F-350 LARIAT with most of the goodies (no sun-roof; no power back window, but still well optioned) list 48K...selling for 38K (plus tax) under current incentives.. I am at a total loss to undertsand this market.
GM dealer down the road has another f-350 2005 KR with 60k miles and is asking $29,990

How do you buy in a market like this????
