Wood Flatbed

Anyone have any experience building a wood flatbed for their truck? If you do I would love some tips and tricks. I got the bed off my truck today, going to wire wheel it down and repaint the frame. Wasnt to bad, only found one broken spring and a bad driveshaft center support bearing. Gonna redo her all I hope in the next couple months.

well, just remember to leave gaps between the boards to allow for expansion. you will need some sort of cross members & side/end peices (steel) to hold it all true and square. if this is just a old farm truck, a way to keep the wood forever is to dump some oil all over it. last forever!
