Where is your owners manual?

Six quarts

Do you have a new MOTORCRAFT oil filter?

2v Or 3v

CHECK ENGINE TYPE FIRST

2V 6 quarts

3V 7 quarts

There was a change/running change in the 04 - 05 model years.

To the original poster, check which engine you have and check the level at 6 quarts.

Also get yourself an owners manual.

Post To Get The Ownes Manual...

...and all those other pieces of paper in the owners manual cover, go to:
Ford Vehicles: Ford cars, trucks, SUVs, and crossovers
Click on "Owners" in the top right. Go to the My Ford Owners Site.

Click "Owner Guides" under "Owner Resouces".

Enter your vehicle details and you're done.

Good luck,

Definitely use the Motorcraft filter though...I used a Fram on my wife's Escape, and that damn thing sounded like a lifter tapping on start-up until I replaced that filter with a Motorcraft with the silicone valve in it.

You could give me a Fram filter and I would be quite rude , even mean and throw it back and made sure I'd hit you in the Face!

Such Junk!!! Motorcraft or Wix/Napa Oil Filters!!!!

Can you tell I HATE Fram Oil Filters.....
