Asking again about Sanden compressor. Help!

I asked a few days ago about Sanden compressors in Fords. Getting no response, I'll explain more about why I am asking. Maybe someone can help.

I found a Sanden compressor at the junkyard. It was in a pile of compressors, so I didn't see the vehicle it came from. It is a SD-709, marked for R-12, and it is stamped with the "Ford" oval logo. I didn't know that Ford ever used the Sanden compressor, and I am wondering what they did put them on. The mounting fits my pickup ('87 F250), so I bought it, and am going to install it. But I would like to know as much about it as possible. Any info. someone might have about Ford's use of Sanden would be appreciated. Thanks.

HMM, a Sanden with a Ford logo?
That sounds lie the compressor from a dealer add-on kit. All US designed Fords have used Nippondenso compressors since the early 80s.
It's also possible that it was used on some of the Mazda based cars like the Probe, some Tracers, etc.
It would certainly be pre-1993.

it was a dealer add-on AC kit. It was made (assembled from other suppliers components) kit by Visteon.
Its a far better compressor than what ford installe from the factory.
New ones are still available for about $225
