Haven't seen any new posts of any significance in a couple of days now. You would think that the 6.4 being in it's 2nd year of production would be be showing some of the problems exibited by it's 6.0 cousin if there WERE any problems with the new 6.4. Seems to me that there won't be much to speak about. Sure there have been those small number of owners with major issues but it seems that they are few and far between. I am very pleased with mine having owned it for a little over a year, and driven 37,000 mi. I have said it many times and I'll say it again "LOVE THIS TRUCK"

Ah yes "Put through Hell". Lets see if I got it right?. A guy buys a $50,000 or more truck. Then he buys a $600.00 tuner. Then he blows a $15,000 engine by running it out of it's design parameters. Then he'll come here to whine about it. Gotta love em.

I'm rolling up on 19k miles in 9mths. I'm towing a 12k 5th wheel or a 21 ft bass boat almost every weekend in the spring, summer, and fall. It has been to the shop for the seat and fuel tank bracket recall and the usual oil/filter changes. No warranty related failures of any kind. It is a job#1 truck built in May 07.

Every vehicle has a weak link in it. I say thank goodness for those willing to experiment with tuners or other parts because that helps speed up the learning curve and if there is a weak link it will show up. Personally I hope the transmission IS the weak link because that means the 6.4 is one bad azz engine. Wouldnt that be the same case as the honored 7.3. those guys are stacking chips with all sorts of mods and still praise it as one of the most reliable engines. OK, so the trans wont hold up but there are companies out there that can bullet proof a trans a lot cheaper than an engine. More importantly they identified the weak link and know what to watch for now.
Im really curious to see how head gaskets, injectors, and EGR coolers hold up on the 6.4 since those were the weak links on the 6.0.

got my truck in feb. and so far 8k trouble free miles!! been taking the harley to work more and more though.. cant pass up 50mpg.. i think if doing the dpf delete with the spartan tune is safe as long as u dont run the crazziest tune all the time. keep it moderate, enjoy the milage and these motors will last

Reminds me of the guys that buy a 40-50K+ truck, spend another small fortune on lift kit and oversized wheels and tires. Then on the week end take the truck down to the mud flats to see who can get the dirtiest w/o getting stuck prior to the tide coming in. A tow truck drivers wet dream.LOL
Then they drive it dirty all week to show where they've been.
Oh well, it's their money and their truck. To each their own.
