alright, so yesterday i took part of the day off and went up to the big city of Atlanta to pick up the oil gauge adapter kit IH sells. got home and put it all together, took me about hour and a half although I am not quite finished. i want the RTV and the loc-tite to cure and then today I am gonna go back and put a second coat of RTV on practically sealing the whole thing.

i have one question though... is there supposed to be a seal at the top of the dipstick? if so i think mine is gone.

thanks guys for all the help so far, it has been more than appreciated!

Let us know how it went. And yes there are a ruber seal at the top of the dipstick, I have read that there is not a part # for it, so you need to fab one or adpat one. Im going to try to find the link for that and if I do, I post it here.

been over a month now and no leak. that kit was overpriced but it does work! i used a cheapo gun cleaning kit i bought from walmart and used the stiff bristle brush to hold the base while i loc-tite'd it and sealed her up.
