Question 2000 Ranger 3.0L misfire Cylinder #1 AND #5

My first post and it's gonna be a doozy(sp?)........
I have a 2000 Ranger 3.0L 5-speed 265K(90% hwy miles)
Problems started about a year ago....noticed it was idling bad. Finally got a code, tracked it to the DPFE sensor, changed it and that code went away.....but the bad idle didn't........and it's gotten worse.....now it won't idle at startup...stalls out.....even after being warmed up.....very little loss of power....will chirp the tires at take-off.....still runs like a charm at 70mph.......
New codes........p0301/p0305 Misfire Cylinder 1/Misfire Cylinder 5.........
New Plugs and wires....checked good
Swapped wires.....code stays the same....still p0301/p0305
Injectors just got tested/cleaned.........checked good........
Coil pack tested.........good....have good spark on all 6 cylinders.......
EGR cleaned and tested.....good
Cleaned MAF......
Cleaned TB.....had some carbon but not really bad.......
New fuel filter. (No fuel pressure test done since it's only those two cylinders)
Performed a "dry" compression test.....results were weird....or maybe not, considering the number of miles on this little engine.........
1-32psi
2-40psi
3-85psi
4-75psi
5-25psi
6-25psi
None of which sounds right to me......

So....I'm needing a direction or diagnosis, if anyone else maybe has a clue?
This has been a sweet little truck since I bought it new back in 2000.....never a moments problem....until now........

Appreciate any help or suggestions........

By the way....this is an awesome forum!

ok first off throw that piece of crap compression tester at a road sign.next by a cylinder leak down tester and test the 2 cylinders, set pressure to 80psi and see what it holds.if it hisses out of the exhaust bad exhaust valve, hissing intake bad intake valve, hissing oil fill port bad piston rings.here is a long list of could be problems.
>vacuum leakage-check throttle body and intake manifold bolts for proper tightness-check vacuum hoses-use ether or soapy water solution.
>faulty fuel or electrical
>plugged pcv valve
>fuel pump not delivering sufficient flow,or bad regulator
>blown head gaskets
>camshaft lobes worn

also if you ever try to detect a misfire by pulling the plug wires ALWAYS pull them at the plug,if you pull them at the coil pack you take a huge risk of blowing the diode and its a costly expense.O and welcome to the site.

Deal.....POC compression tester is gone. Didn't know about a "Leakdown Tester" so thanks for that info.....will try that and post back the results.

I think we found the problem.......

Ok....we did another compression test(sorry Capn...wasn't the "leak-down" test you suggested)....Cylinder#4 had 70psi......Cylinder#5 had 20psi....put a little transmission fluid in the cylinder and did it again.....pressure shot up to 120psi on both cylinders.........
Bad rings.........now I have two options........replace the motor(used or rebuilt? Where to find one of these?)........or rebuild the one that's in there(is there a complete rebuild kit or are parts bought individually?).........suggestions?

I suppose I can't complain TOO much....I did get 260K trouble-free miles out of this thing......

Thanks for the help so far Capn!
