Mileage is going down
#16
i had 43 pounds, and my truck didnt run for crap until I hit about 65 fuel economy wise. I dont really understand why siince its within spec, but I saw mileage jump from about 420 miles per tank, to over 450 a tank, and its never been under that since... Been almost 9 months of that too, so it wasnt winter blend difference or anything of the sort.

So I checked my fuel pressure and mileage again. I got 19 half highway and half city. Go figure. That's pretty good, IMO. My fuel pressure was at 57 idling. Do you guys think it would be dangerous to do the FPR shim at this pressure? Does the pressure increase with RPM's or does the regulator keep it constant?

I have noticed lately that my mileage has dropped from about 21 on the highway to about 18. I used to always get 20-21.5 on the hwy. I still get 17-18 consistently around town, but it has just dropped on the highway. It seems to be this way since I put my downpipe and removed "other" exhaust features. I've even tried to keep my foot off the pedal. Any ideas? Fuel delivery? drivetrain?
I think I'm going to check my drum brakes for a stuck piston.

now that you have a straight exhaust your truck is going to sound louder, making you think that ur in it more than you really are. I know with my truck and my dads we get better mileage if actually keep our foot in it alittle.
Just a thought.
