Those are future prices. The price that we see today for a barrel are actually going to be felt at the pump next month. We are seeing the prices for when oil was traded at 130 and up. This is where speculation on oil traders comes in and why the price per barrel for oil goes up when they hear bad news that might affect the supply of oil.

Funny thing is though, as soon as price goes up for a barrel prices jump at the pump, even though they are still selling the cheaper oil.

It was like that in the past, but around here at least prices have been pretty stable. It's been in the 3.93-3.99 range for 87 and 4.65-4.69 for diesel for a while now. I've been waiting for the next big increase but diesel actually fell to a low, low 4.59/gallon.

Hopefully oil will continue to fall.

WTF! those greedy A-Holes keep taking OUR money just so they can have their own luxury yacht. its bad enough that diesel is sooo expensive BECAUSE diesel fuels the semis, farm tractors, and our favorite brand of trucks. (FORD KICKS A$$!) You raise the price of diesel you raise the pric of everything. i just wish for $1.40 Diesel and $1.60 gas again.

Well i guess we should turn to Bio-fuels the only way to stick it to those FAT GREEDY A-HOLES!

Diesel droped in metro detroit. Went from around 4.89 - 5.00 to 4.55 or so. Was suprised. Still no suckered into thinking i got a good deal.

To comment on the OP's - i hate when the station sets the price high at like 4.89 and then it drops and we see no drop at the pump. They must rake it in on the downfall.

Everything here came down about 10 cents from last week, which is kind of a relief. At least it's not still going up.

Here is the kicker, just when you noticed a respite at the pump, I'm just willing to bet that oil will rally tomorrow morning when the bulls get a bad economic report that they are waiting to get. I don't know it for certain, but I wouldn't be surprised that after some relief comes bitterness.

Last check at the time of this posting was 133.86. It might sit there unless there is another supply issue, weather issue, or some more bad economic news, but I don't think on it's own it's going to go anywhere.

That is cause your still willing to buy!!! The last time I checked that was what they called " supply and demand". Bushy of oil patch fame is certainly going to let his boys rip us off for the next 6 months.....aren't you glad you voted for him!!!

Not that I have to commute to work anymore ( it was 7 miles round trip ) I still fill my tank when I find a bargan elsewise its only a few gallons as needed. Three tanks of four and a 5 gal container are pretty full at the moment and I suspect that will keep me the next month or two unless the price comes back down to being reasonable.

My petro use is down over 40% the last 2 years...How bout the rest of you guys?

The good news is that I'm hearing more about the "oil bubble" and panic buying along with decreasing demand.

The speculators are trying to keep the run up going and hopefully it will stall soon. If they continue as humans naturally do, they will run it way up, we will cut way back, and then the bubble will burst, oil prices will fall, and hopefully the speculators lose thier butts.

I have to say that little would make me happier than to hear stories about people buying $150 oil that the next day crashed to $50.

What we really, really need is a turn around of the dollar.

Mike
