Forest Fires

Is anybody near these forest fire in Hyde, Tyrell, and Washington County? We got some property in Hyde County that I think it is pretty close to. We will be hopefully getting down there this weekend to check it out. We are getting some good smoke here on the Outer Banks from it to.

I used to spend a lot of time down there. Most of it near Pungo lake on the Pungo unit. Lots of bow hunting. Sorry to see what has happened. We did get told by some of the Feds. down there they were way over due for some controled burns.

Most of the property we have down there is hunting property. We have some that borders the Pungo Wildlife refuge. I have heard the same thing about it being overdue for some controlled burns. Hopefully they can get it atleast under control here shortly.

foret fires

Guys,
Dont feel too bad its down here in Fayetteville as well. There were some high altitude photos on the net the other day and they are big fires too....
Lots of piney woods that way...the straw can get 6-10" thick and it'll burn forever....damn hard to put out too.....
