4.6l to a 5.4l 1997 Expy

How difficult would it be to take the 4.6l and swap it with the 5.4l engine? I posted a thread on here earilier about a friend that ran his engine without oil!! He is kicking around the idea of swaping out engines. Does anyone know how involved this would be? What would have to be changed other than the engine to make this swap work, for instance does the ECM have to be changed, mass airflow sensor, exhaust etc. Thanks everyone for all of your input.

Your friend's best bet would be to sell the Expedition with the 4.6L and find an Expedition with a 5.4L installed at the factory. Everthing from computers to transmission changes you friend would probably save money by finding another Expedition. Plus there are lots of them out there for sale.
