Disable the ebpv/ and the wastegate
I got a code today exhaust back presser sensor. I unplugged the sensor for now. What all will this effect? I don't plan on using the ebpv, can I leave the sensor unplugged, or do I need to clean the tube and plug it back up, and unplug the ebpv. I was planning on unplugging the ebpv anyway. Question 2. Can I unhook the red hose on the wastegate and plug it off and have the wastegate disabled?
Thanks

Unplugging the EBP sensor is supposed to disable the EBP valve. You're supposed to also be able to disable the EBPV by unplugging the IAT sensor, but Chase has an early 99 that's a CA truck and these tricks didn't work for him.
You could unplug the wastegate, but if you overboost you're likely to cause some $$$ problems.
My $.02. We'll see what others have to say.

I thought I read somewhere that the EBP sensor did a few more things than just run the EBP valve, I understood that the main computer (name escapes me right now) recieved a reading from it that helped to determine the correct timing and fuel delivery amounts. Is that not right? It MAY have been coincident but after putting the new EBP sensor in my rig Tues, the MPG went up. (acording to the "lie-o-meter"), I'll try to find that article I was reading about it and post a link if I find it.

to unplug the EBPV look down bellow the turbo where the blue dot is in this pic...you will see a plug that has a wire locking clip on it...flip the lock up and back then pull on the plug... the valve should defalt open..this is the only way to unhook the EBPV.the EBPS is used for many things..you will get no ses light as its the end of a loop..but you will get a soft code stored...
for the waste gate..pull the red line off of the turbo and plug the end of the red line..you can use the stud of the IC boot clamp to plug it..keep in mind..pushing a stock turbo over 25 lb will shorten the life of the turbo...
