Vacation in OK...Junkyard finds! (pics inside)

Well I'm on vacation in Oklahoma and found a Pull-A-Part with some 70s Fords. Here are a few pictures. One truck even had factory rear defrost but someone put a slider window in back. It still has the switch in it though. I did grab the glovebox light, radio wiring, and cargo light complete with wiring. Also got M/T valve covers radio antenna, defroster cable, r/s tailgate latch, and random wiring harnesses. All for under $30. Here are a few pictures.

My fiancee is pretty understanding. It's her apartment. There was nowhere else to put the dirty parts LOL. If I want anything to eat I have to move it. So it looks like I will be hungry the next day or two.

Red most of the trucks were fairly rust free and had good body panels. There were probably 7-10 of these trucks there with good doors, fenders and hoods. Ones that still had beds were fairly rust free too from what I saw.

I'd like to have those 73-75 grille inserts, they look to be in pretty good shape, i haven't found any locally yet, the 78-79 grilles are all over the place but the 73-75 grille is hard to come by, around here anyway.

Nice pics! Luckily you could get those; usually they'll kick out out of a pick-n-pull for taking pictures.

Webster, Pull-A-Part was in south OKC on Santa Fe.

76SCS, the truck I got the cargo light from the switch was located on driver side near roof toward back of cab. If you have the switch it should be pretty obvious if it is there.

Montana, the grille inserts were ok. they weren't perfect. I need some inserts and outer grille shell, but none were worth taking. I think that truck with those inserts is wrong anyway because of the race track moldings. Someone probably put earlier grille on, but I'm not sure about that.

77red, she even went with me to the yard on the first day and she took the screws out of a tailgate cover from bedliner so I could remove tailgate handle! She also was carrying tools in her COACH bag

fmc, I was unaware you couldn't take pics. Someone else was doing it too so I didn't think much of it when I took them. There were more 73-79 trucks and a few 72-below as well. I could have spent the day just taking pictures of rust free parts.

I can't wait to come down again and get more stuff.

Maybe, maybe not. My wife and I went out for a nice date a month ago, and on the way back, she asked if I wanted to stop at a junkyard on the way back. That's where we go on our hot dates

Some women admire the man for what he is, not what she thinks he (maybe) should be.
