Progress pics of the 53!
Just thought I would share a few pictures of the 53 progress. We did a fare bit of work the last week and a bit. Managed to put the cleveland and the C4 in, (fits perfect). The bed was painted and test fitted. Air deflectors and radiator support painted. Fitted the bench seat from Glide and finally had a couple of cold amber fliuds to wash out the dust out. Keep you all posted soon. Cheers Aussie 53

I am probably in the same boat as all of you with your tucks. It has taken me three years to get to this point. Maybe would have been longer if I didn't have any help from my friends. I appreciate the wise comments about the MC being on the wrong side. I am 6ft tall and there is no problem reaching the the other side as someone commented....lol. I am hoping to have the F100 finished in the next couple of months so I can drive it. My mission before I go to the States for some F100 drooling is the rest of panels painted. send it off to the brake shop to have all the brake lines installed, get the auto electrician to wire it up and hopefully start it up for the first, sounds good hey. You guys are all wrong. He is from the island of Australia. You know, where Austrians are from. Everthing is backwards 'down under'. The MC is hooked up to the carb and what we call a gas pedal actually stops the truck. Venturies work backwards down there also. You know, southern hemishpere and all that stuff. Glad I could clear that up for everyone.

My pickup was originally a left hand drive truck. I changed everything over to right hand drive. I wouldn't be to comfortable cruising down the highway in a LHD truck. I would have to put trust in the co pilot if I wanted to overtake something. That's why you can still see the original LHD hole near the firewall. I have a plate to cover the hole up. Cheers all

Do YOUR OWN brakelines......borrow (rent???) a bender and a Flare tool (they cost about $100 for a cheap pair).Takes about an hour (at most) to learn, and the tubing is supercheap, so you just keep trying again til it looks good, and use a measuring tape to evenly space the clips!....best place on the whole build to save yerself a coupla hundred bucks and get time to go that extra mile to make it look that extra bit nice.If We were both in melbourne, I'd knock em out in an afternoon for ya...oh,...and when yer done, sand em shiny and clearcoat em with a rattlecan (yes...off the truck!).
