P0443 evap/emiss purge control valve is the code I'm getting. Just purchased this '03 F250 SD 5.4 a few days before leaving for work. The light came on and this is the code that Schuck's pulled for me. Will be home in a week and wonder what and how to fix/look for? Thanks for all replies

 

Verify the purge valve electrical connector is plugged in.

The valve is on the firewall. Just look for the green cap for the testing port.

If it's connected, unplug it and measure the resistance of the valve's coil. Should be between 30 and 38 ohms. If not, replace the valve.

If good, you've got either a faulty wiring circuit or a faulty PCM and will need to follow the diagnostic in the service manual.
