I would agree with the vast majority of the rest....fix the rust b/f it rusts all the way through and you have a BIG problem on your hands. Because as the old saying goes, "rust here, rust there......dang, how did that rust get there?"

Is the old paint in such bad shape you can't try and restore its lustre? I've got deep scratches and dings in mine that I'll sand down and repair but want to put a contrasting color over it in a flame pattern.

its got a lot of dents and scratches....my boyfriend has been able to buff a lot of them out...but theres still a lot that wont buff out. theres a decent size dent in the tailgate but we are just gonna get one from the junk yard. well thats our plan anyways. im not a big fan of the whole flames thing so im not gonna do anything like that.
