The truck 5.8 intake is better than the car 5.0HO, the lower has smoother curves and the upper plenum has more volume and a more direct shot into the runners.. not to mention almost twice the throttle body. If you want an upgrade from the stock truck intake look at the Typhoon from Professional products.. Professional Products Online it's based on the Edelbrock performer and accepts a 70mm TB. Here's mine after I had it powdercoated black..

This intake is plumbed internally for EGR, so you can utilize the car style EGR spacer and valve(no external tube like the trucks). Of course it takes the single plate style throttle body, and will require a single air inlet tube. You'll have to make some routing changes on the vacuum lines, electrical connections for the IAC and TPS, and coolant lines for the TB. You can utilize the Lightning throttle cable if you cannot make the stock one work.

Edelbrock makes a truck specific intake that is just a bigger version of the stock intake, but it's also more expensive than the Typhoon.
