Can the reversing sensor be turned off?

When towing - as soon as I put the truck in reverse the sensor starts beeping and beeping ...and beeping. Can this be turned on and off? If not - has anyone added a switch?

It's really irritating - and I couldn't hear my wife yelling - don't back into the broken fence..... (first time out had to back a 31 ' trailer about 450 ft around a building and many hazards. Only 3 hours, a small scratch and a permanent beeping in my ear, we were off.

Just pull the fuse - yes but it was the least of my concerns at the time.

If yours is OEM then it should have the defeat button below the rear glass defroster. If it is aftermarket then you can switch the feed that comes from the reverse signal or (harder) switch the beeper itself. Usually that's in the back though. That would be a mighty long couple of wires.
