how wide rims. i ask because they dont have a great selection for 18 inch wheels. my dad just put some terra grapplers on his '05 King Ranch with 18x8 KR wheels, and Nitto doensn't have a 33x12.50 E rated tire for 18x8 inch wheels. he ended up with 275/70R18 (33x11) and everyshop said that's the bigges in nitto for 8 inch wide wheels (in a 33 that is) I have 305/70R16 (basically a 33x12.50) and wanted him to put something similar sized. if he had gone with the Toyo A/T he was going to go 35x11.50R18.

well i guess i should clarify my post. every shop said they wouldn't mount the larger (ie wider) tire on his 8 inch wide wheels. i can be done, but would wear out the center of the tire MUCH faster. the 275/75R18 is 33 inch tall, but a little less than 11 inches wide. compared to my 307/70R16 cheapo maxxis tires, mine look so much bigger (wider) and his truck still looks kinda funny since it sits so much taller (its a SRW F350 with the higher GVWR) than mine did stock. i have a 2 inch mini spring pack on the front, and a 3 inch block stacked onto the stock 1 7/8 inch rear block, and he sits at the same height. i wanted to put 35's on his, but with only 8 inch wide wheels the choices were VERY limited.
DC probably has 325/60R18's which is 32.99x12.83 and D rated at 3000 lbs. smallest APPROVED rim width is 9 inches.
on my truck i plan on Toyo MT/s LT315/75R16 which is 35x12.50 E rated at 3860 lbs.

I ran through a set of Terra Grapplers last round, in a size like you're talking about, 325/65R18. However, they are only load range D, but I didn't have any issues with them. Unless you're hauling major loads, you probably won't need more than a D, and if you are hauling that big of a load, I would use a smaller tire anyway.
I've got a 4" lift on mine and they cleared just fine. However, I've seen the same size tires on a different truck with a 4" lift and they just barely rubbed the leaf springs. The difference in in how the lift is done. Mine is an added leaf, so the spring has more arch to it and the tire clears. The other one was a set of DR drop shackles and the arch of the stock spring didn't quite clear the tire. It only rubbed at full turn though.
I've got a set of Toyo Open Country A/T's now that I'm going to try. They were on the truck when I went to Smokin and didn't notice anything negative about them. I'd say they're about the same all around as the Nitto's, just not quite as aggressive. I found the Toyo's a little cheaper than I could find the Nitto's, which is why I went with them instead.

Be careful with the 33/12.50R18 Toyo MTs....according to Toyo's website they are Load Range E but are only rated at 2910lbs.
I run 325/60R18 Silent Armor Pro Grades on my 07 with 18x8.5 Weld Renegades. They are Load Range E and rated at 3525lbs per tire.
A little over 24,000 miles on them and they are wearing great. I may go with the Hankook Dynapro MT next in the same size/same weight rating for a slightly more aggressive tread, still undecided.
