I'm sure you all know Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House. But have you heard about his Petition?

I gotta say we really need to move on to alternative fuels...
the only way to make that happen is for fuel oil prices to stay high enough to make research and developement practical
drill here, drill now is a temporary fix, just passes the buck to the next generation
i'm all for cheaper gas (I live paycheck to paycheck) but more than that is needed

I couldn't agree anymore with AzBlueWolf. People get real the deal is over. It is only going to get worse. The media is a has been lying for a long time. We have or are close to reaching PEAK OIL. once we go beyond that it is a down hill slide quickly. We have to find fixes in this country not just continue to bandaid everything, as the Government does and has done for far to long. If your driving a large gas or diesel rig better sell it before it can't be given away. The only exception is those like helifixer who needs it to work. In the day when I was a kid the 50s & 60s truck only belonged to people who needed them for there work.
PS I wouldn't sign anything Newt represents. He was one major reason those of us that believe in the Constitution left the Republican Party years ago. Remember the "CONTRACT WITH AMERICA" those of us that truely believe in the Contitution wondered what was wrong with the one we had called THE CONSTITUTION. That was the beginning of the end of the left turn in the Republican Party. Look where it is today.
