Where should I get replacement bed sheet metal?
Which of these options would you guys choose to get replacement sheet metal for my truck bed.
I have a 1978 F250 Ranger 4x4 reg cab 8 foot styleside bed. The bed has a good amount of rust on it. The back wall rail is cracked, the bottom has seperated, the floor has several pin holes and is springy, the floor rail supports are ate up badly (one of em is almost completely gone), the wheel wells are ate up, the bed rails are dinged up badyly, the inside bed sides are dinged up badly, the bed support rail underneath the tailgate it rotted badly, the sides wobble and must be pushed inward to close the tailgate, the tailgate itself has been nearly folded over from weight and then straigtened again, it's rusted and dinged badly, although the ford trim is in excellent shape.
So basically the whole bed needs replaced.
I've heard LMC get's it's sheet metal imported from china and that it's thin crap that dings to easily and isn't good at all. I'm not sure about the other suppliers listed.
So who do you think I should get my sheet metal from?

Try to find a whole good used bed from down south (texas, etc). There are guys / companies that find good clean used beds for resale up north because of all the rust, etc. I got a good clean used 6' box for my 78 F250 crewcab from Texas (the guy I bought it from was from Iowa). Sounds like your box is too far gone to start resurecting it - you'd be more money ahead by finding a whole different box. Sorry if this is not one of your poll choices - but MHO.
